Reaction to Zidane's sending off
France coach Raymond Domenech said the referee should have given Zinedine Zidane more protection in the World Cup final defeat against Italy in Berlin. Zidane was sent off in extra-time for a headbutt on Marco Materazzi before France went on to lose on penalties. "Materrazzi is the man of the match, not Andrea Pirlo," said Domenech. "When one has to put up with what Zidane had to and the referee doesn't do anything, one understands. You can't excuse it, but you can understand it." The France coach added that Zidane regretted what had happened but refused to say if he had apologised.

LAST GAME FOR REAL MADRID
On 7 May 2006, Zidane played his last home game for Real Madrid at the famous Santiago Bernabéu stadium. His team-mates wore special jerseys that had ZIDANE 2001–2006 written on the bottom of the club logo. The Real Madrid fans gave him a warm reception and kept cheering him throughout the game. The opponent team was Villarreal CF and the game ended in a 3-3 draw. He scored the second goal for Real Madrid. After the game, Zidane swapped jerseys with Juan Roman Riquelme, the Villarreal CF and Argentinian midfielder. Zidane was given a massive ovation by spectators, which left him in tears.

great goal for zidane:
Zinedine Zidane scored a goal of sheer brilliance as Real Madrid ended their centenary season by winning their ninth European Cup. this goal was so perfect and i remamber me and my friends were going for the real and we were jumping and yelling when he scored it. it was just a crazy game and we were so happy that the real team won this game.
The Spanish giants had wrestled the early initiative when Raul scored after nine minutes, but Bayer Leverkusen quickly bounced back with Lucio's equaliser. However, the momentum swung decisively with Zidane's goal on the stroke of half time. And Real dominated an unspectacular second half in which Leverkusen failed to create any meaningful chances until the very end. In the seventh minute of injury time Madrid's substitute goalkeeper Iker Casillas made three spectactular saves to prevent Leverkusen from taking the match into extra time.

woman magnetism and personal style
Zidane is Christian Dior's first male model. That is about the extent of his women magnetism. He isn't a heartthrob like David Beckham, or charming like Luis Figo. He is Zinedine Zidane, one of the world's most boring players. Does he care? Of course not, he has a lovely wife and two kids, and all the love he ever needs (though we can imagine the propositions uninhibited French women have thrown his way).

Zidane's off-field blandness extends to his wardrobe, which is just short of dull and unimaginative. Luckily his wife has impeccable taste. ================================================================================
personality & talent
Zidane is self-admittedly shy. He is considered a leader with his feet, not his mouth. That is unfortunate because of the impact he can have on people. In France, where Arabic immigrants are often marginalized, he has improved French impressions of Algerians (his parents are Algerian immigrants) thanks to his feats (and feet). His media indifference notwithstanding, his talent in-between the goal posts is unquestionable. He can change the flow of a game in an instant. His passing and dribbling skills create gigantic spaces on the field as opposing defenders rush to stop him. Even casual fans can recognize his genius and presence on the pitch.

Zinedine Zidane got off to a bumpy start for Real Madrid last year after his record $68.6 million transfer from Juventus. Amateur football accountants quickly began to suggest that the price paid for the French midfielder had been a mistake. They could be right, Zidane might be worth even more. Let's audit his account: World Cup Champion, European Champion, Serie A champion, and now Champions League winner. Win or lose, his ability to bend a game in his favour the way he bends the ball around defenders has made this player the best one. =========================================================================
